Swedish Massage - 30 minute

30 minutes: $25

In all Swedish massage, the therapist lubricates the skin with massage oil, lotion or gel. Various massage strokes are used through out the massage. To warm up the muscles, gliding strokes over the skin warm up the tissues. Kneading and rolling as well as percussion on the skin help work out any "knots" or adhesions that may be within the muscles. Swedish massage also promotes relaxation, among other health benefits. This modality typically focuses on the superficial layer of muscles.

With a limited amount of time, it is highly recommended that we focus on your top three problem areas to give them the attention they need for maximum relief.

Deep Tissue Massage - 30 minute

30 minutes: $25

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Like with a Swedish Massage, the limited allotted time gives us the opportunity to work on three problem areas that have been giving you trouble.

Pregnancy Massage is a modality designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits include emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation. This type of massage is performed in a side-lying position along with a semi-reclining position. I do require that you are past your First Trimester in order to get a massage and that you have a low-risk pregnancy.

Cupping

$10 add on to your scheduled Massage Session

Cupping Therapy is an alternative modality in which silicone cups are placed on the skin to create suction. This causes the skin to rise and redden as blood vessels expand. These are pliable enough to be moved from place to place on the skin and produce a massage-like effect. This method is used after massage because it pulls up on and separates the muscles from the inner parts of the body. It also brings blood flow towards the cup hence why massaging after cupping is not necessary, it would undo what the cups are trying to achieve.

Hot Stone Therapy

$20 add on to your scheduled Massage Session

Hot Stone Therapy is a style of massage where heated stones are placed onto your body to deepen relaxation and promote circulation in your muscles. Muscles that are heated with these stones release tension and stress much more deeply and quickly than with a traditional massage. After the tissues are warmed by the stones, the massage begins and the muscles can be worked on. This type of therapy can also end with stones being placed on certain sites to warm the body before the session is over. The overall experience is very relaxing, nurturing, and rejuvenating.

Chair Massage

$8 for 10 minutes, $12 for 15 minutes, $25 for 30 minutes

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension and works around your busy schedule. With the shorter duration of times in chair massage, you receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I would bring to your location or have at my office. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. Which means you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage.
